Sally King McBride is a New York City-based artist and illustrator. She holds degrees from Brown and Columbia University in art history and worked for over ten years at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her alphabets derive from a rich artistic vocabulary built over the course of these experiences; her motivation comes from two young sons still learning their ABCs! Printed on bright white matte paper from an original watercolor painting and framed in either a white or blonde wooden frame, the Chinoiserie Alphabet is inspired by the 18th-century design movement evoking Chinese artistic elements in Western art; many of the letters drawing on inspiration from the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
