The paper airplane most of us learned as children was a dart that flew about ten feet and then gave up, which is why a box like this one goes over so well. Andrew Dewar designs planes that actually hold a glide, and he has worked out twelve of them here that a child can fold in a dozen steps or fewer, with the fold lines printed right onto the sheets so there is no guessing and no measuring. The full-color book walks through each design and adds the small adjustments that make a plane fly farther or turn, which is the part children tend to get obsessed with. There are thirty-six sheets in the box so every design can be built several times over, and a sheet of two hundred stickers for marking out whose plane is whose.
