Each of the fifteen Lottie Blocks is an octagon of solid beechwood with a round, faceted acrylic gem set into its center, and together they run through the full rainbow, from red and orange through greens and blues to violet and soft pink, so the light that passes through them scatters into little checkered patterns of color across the table or the floor. They nest neatly into their wooden tray in three tidy rows, which makes them as lovely to leave out on a shelf as they are to stack, roll, line up, and sort, and the kind of set that tends to stay in a family long after the first child has outgrown it.
