Building with blocks asks for a steady hand, and a small child does not always have one yet. These tiles have magnets hidden inside them, so the pieces catch and hold the moment they touch, and a wall stays up long enough to become a house. Inside there are two large squares, fourteen small squares, eight equilateral triangles, four right triangles and four isosceles triangles, thirty-two pieces in six colors that click together flat on the floor or straight up into the air. Solid wood with water-based paint, warm in the hand in a way plastic never quite manages, and sturdy enough to be handed down.
