Phoebe Wahl’s August captures the easy rhythm of a summer day in the country, with a yellow farmhouse, quilts drying on the line, and a yard full of small occupations. Chickens wander underfoot while a horse and donkey graze nearby, and the garden, orchard, and beehives offer something new to notice with each look. Released from Wahl’s archive to celebrate her studio’s tenth anniversary, this print preserves the layered textures of her watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, and collage. A white border frames a scene worth slowing down for.
