Some jack o'lanterns are carved to frighten and some are carved for company. Two owls in bright jackets hold up a small ghost with a pumpkin head, a hedgehog in a maroon coat kneels beside a carved pumpkin with a candle going, and a young owl in red stands to one side with a wing raised. Richard Scarry drew this in his early flat-color style, printed on warm peach stock so the whole scene glows. It reads it's Halloween time on the front and is blank inside, with a matching envelope.
