Knots are one of the few practical skills that are just as satisfying to practice as they are to use. This kit pairs a set of illustrated cards with two lengths of braided cotton cord, one teal and one cream, so the knot can be tied as it is being read about rather than after. The set includes stopper knots, joining knots, mooring knots or hitches, and more, each card carrying engraved diagrams and a short explanation of what the knot is for and when it holds. The two colors matter more than they look, since working a bend with one cord of each color makes it obvious which end is going where.
