Start with a sketch, fill it with color, then see what a little water can do. These ten Fibralo fiber pens from Caran d’Ache have sturdy tips and bright, transparent, water-based ink for drawing, coloring, and lettering. A wet brush softens the lines into watercolor washes, giving the same drawing a different finish. Made in Switzerland, the pens are guaranteed against drying out, and the ink won’t bleed through paper, washes out of most fabrics, and lasts for more than 600 meters of line. The colors come together in a red metal tin, easy to put away when the page is full.
